| 갈 길 먼 국내 임상시험의 현실[현장에서/이미지] - 동아일보 Posted: 11 Nov 2020 06:17 PM PST tinggalaja.blogspot.com  서울대병원 임상시험센터에서 임상시험 지원자들을 대상으로 사전 신체검사를 진행하고 있다. 국가임상시험지원재단 제공 이미지 정책사회부 기자임상시험재단이 이 같은 사전의향서를 받아보자는 아이디어까지 낸 건 그만큼 임상 지원자가 부족하기 때문이다. 코로나19 치료제의 경우 혈장치료제와 항체치료제가 10월 초 임상 2상에 들어갔지만 이달 10일까지 지원한 국내 환자는 21명뿐이다. 혈장치료제는 60명, 항체치료제는 300명의 환자를 모집하는 게 목표다. 식품의약품안전처에 따르면 11일 기준 코로나19 치료제와 백신 임상시험 24건 중 계획했던 시험 대상자 수를 채운 경우는 5건에 불과했다. 임상시험 24건의 목표 대상자는 모두 2552명인데 지원자는 450명으로 목표치의 20%도 안 됐다. 한국은 코로나19 환자 수가 상대적으로 적은 편이다. 또 대부분 경증 환자라 다른 나라에 비해 임상 참여자가 적을 수밖에 없다. 하지만 임상시험에 대한 부정적 인식이 많은 것도 참여자가 적은 이유 중 하나라는 게 전문가들의 의견이다. 항체치료제 임상에 참여하고 있는 김진용 인천의료원 감염내과 과장은 "임상 지원자들에게 '시험 대상자의 절반은 개발 중인 치료제나 백신이 아닌 위약(가짜약)을 투여받게 된다는 걸 설명하면 참여하지 않겠다고 하는 경우가 많다"고 말했다.주요기사 최근 미국 화이자와 독일의 바이오엔테크는 4만 명 넘게 참여한 코로나19 백신 임상 3상의 중간 분석 결과를 발표했다. 영국에서도 노바벡스가 진행하는 백신 임상 3상 연구에 10월 초까지 25만 명이 자원한 것으로 알려졌다. 국내 한 제약사 관계자는 "우리나라에서는 수만 명이 필요한 백신 임상은 꿈도 꿀 수 없다"고 말했다. 정부는 연내 코로나19 치료제 허가를 목표로 하고 있다. 국내 임상 모집이 지지부진해 국외 임상을 병행하고 있다. 장인진 서울대병원 임상약리학과 교수는 "임상시험은 누군가의 생명을 구하기 위해 헌혈하는 것처럼 치료제와 백신 개발에 보탬이 되기 위해 나 자신을 '기부'하는 일"이라며 "사회적 기여 활동으로 보는 인식 전환이 필요하다"고 말했다. 코로나19로 많은 사람이 어려움을 겪고 있다. 한 번쯤 임상시험에 대한 사회적 인식을 짚어볼 필요가 있다.이미지 정책사회부 기자 image@donga.com기자페이지 바로가기> 창닫기 https://ift.tt/3kljs7p 비즈니스  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 4種類のダイバリエーションがある「GeForce GTX 1650」の違いを検証 - PC Watch Posted: 11 Nov 2020 05:34 PM PST taritkar.blogspot.com  しばらく前のことになるが、同じ「GeForce GTX 1650」カードを謳いつつも、コードネームの異なるGPU、具体的にはTU106、TU116を搭載するビデオカードが流通した。 本来のGeForce GTX 1650はTU117だ。そして搭載するメモリによってGDDR5版、GDDR6版があった。加えて、TU106は本来GeForce RTX 2060/2070グレード、TU116は本来GeForce GTX 1650 SUPERや1660グレードである。4つの仕様の違いが価格に反映されるのはあるとして、性能的にはどうなのだろうか。調査してみた。  4種のGeForce GTX 1650。どこが違う!?まずは製品の説明となるが、"TU106を搭載するGeForce GTX 1650カード"というのは玄人志向の「GF-GTX1650D6-E4GB/DF2」、"TU116を搭載するGeForce GTX 1650カード"というのはGIGABYTE「GeForce GTX 1650 D6 OC 4G (rev. 2.0)」だ。     対して、一般的なTU117版GeForce GTX 1650として、ZOTACの2製品、「ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 OC GDDR6」、「ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 OC」がある。つまりTU117のスタンダードなGeForce GTX 1650にも2つのバージョンがあるわけで、それぞれGDDR6版とGDDR5版だ。 GDDR6は、GDDR5の後継としてより高クロックの動作を可能としているが、ゲーミングエントリーのビデオカードではまだ採用製品が少ない。とはいえ現在、コスト面で1つ古いGDDR5にメリットがあるかと言えば微妙だ。ZOTACの2製品に関して言えば外観的に同じで価格帯もほぼ同じである。     それでは各GPUをGPU-Zにかけ仕様を確認してみよう。
各GPU-Zの結果     まず、コアコードネームは異なるが、共通のスペックとしてCUDAコア数は896基、そしてメモリバス幅は128bitだ。メモリ容量が4GBである点も挙げられるだろう。また、GDDR6メモリを搭載する3モデルでは、GPUクロックが1,410MHzと揃っている。 ブーストクロックは製品によってさまざまだが、そもそもTU116/106のGeForce GTX 1650のリファレンスがないから、これがリファレンス仕様のブーストクロックなのかOS仕様のブーストクロックなのかは判別つかない。おそらくは各社の自由裁量といったところだろう。一方、TU117のGDDR5版のみ、定格もブーストクロックも高めに設定されている。これはおそらくメモリ帯域を補うためだろう。 そしてNVENCは要注意事項といえるかもしれない。TU116/106は最新の第7世代、TU117は1つ古い第6世代だ。2つの世代で異なるのは、H.265 HEVCにおけるBフレームのサポート。第7世代はサポートしているが、第6世代ではサポートされない。 このほか、先の写真でも指摘したとおり、補助電源という違いもある。TU106、TU116版のGeForce GTX 1650には6ピンのPCI Express補助電源コネクタが搭載されている。一方、TU117版に補助電源コネクタはない。電力に制限のあるPC、省電力を求めるPCにはTU117のほうが向いている。 性能の違いをベンチマークで検証それでは、4枚のビデオカードをベンチマークにかけ、性能差があるのかどうかを調査したい。1つ、「OC仕様」という問題があるが、基本的にブーストクロック側のみで、そのブーストクロックも実クロックというわけではなく目安なので、同じブーストクロック表記でもクーラーが異なれば実クロックは異なると考えれば目をつぶってよいだろう。今回はすべて製品定格、ファクトリーオーバークロック状態でテストを行なう。 また、今回はコアが異なるとはいえすべてGeForce GTX 1650であるため僅差になることが予想される。そこで、まずビルトインベンチマークを利用すること(FRAPSやOCATなどの計測ではブレが大きいため)、各テストでは、安定したスコアを得られるSandraのみ3回としほかは5回取得し平均を算出するといった方法をとることにした。 検証環境CPU：Core i9-9900Kメモリ：DDR4-2666(8GB×2枚) マザーボード：ASUSTeK ROG Strix B360-I Gaming(Intel B360) SSD：Intel Optane SSD 800p(NVMe、118GB) OS：Windows 10 Pro 64bit版 3DMarkを見ると、GDDR5版TU117が若干低いスコアだが、GDDR6版TU117とTU116/106の3製品はほぼ横並びの結果が得られた。いちおう、GDDR6搭載版の3製品に絞れば、TU106版がわずかに低いスコアという傾向があるように見える。  ゲームベンチマークはTom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands、Far Cry 5、STREET FIGHTER V、Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siegeを計測した。前2つのテストは60fps前後が目安、後ろ2つのテストは100fps超を狙うタイトルだ。 全体を俯瞰して見ると、まずやはりGDDR5版TU117が1つ低めのフレームレートであることがわかる。GDDR6版TU117、TU116/106にフォーカスすると、どうやらTU116版がもっともフレームレートが高く、わずかだが次点でGDDR6版TU117、そしてTU106はそれらに対して若干だが低いフレームレートである。  CUDAの性能を比較するテストとしてGeekbench 5を利用してみた。結果は先のゲームベンチマークと同じ傾向だ。  ここまでの結果、まずGDDR5版TU117は明らかにGDDR6搭載版よりも性能で劣るのがわかる。大きな要因はメモリ帯域幅だろう。GPUクロックはむしろほかよりも高いからだ。性能を引き出すためには、GDDR6が必要である。 次に、TU106はGDDR6版TU117やTU116に対して若干、スコア、フレームレートが低い傾向だ。あらためてスペックを確認したい。CUDAコア数はどれも同じだ。そしてGDDR6搭載版について言えばGPUクロックも横並びである。メモリもバス幅、クロックともGDDR6搭載版は同じだ。一つ仮定できるのがブーストクロック。TU106をOCしたら変わるだろうか。 TU106を搭載する玄人志向「GF-GTX1650D6-E4GB/DF2」をOCし、定格クロック+30MHz(ブーストクロック：1,635MHz)とし、製品定格のTU106、ブーストクロックが1,635MHzだったTU116と比較したのが次のグラフだ。   ゲームベンチマークではTom Clancy's Rainbow Six SiegeのみOC時、スコアが落ちているが、これは計測中にパッチなどが当たった影響ではないかと思われる。上3つのデータのとおり、TU106をOCした場合、わずかにフレームレートが上昇したように見える。ただし、TU116には届いていない。つまり、ブーストクロックを抑えられているのがTU106の不振の原因ではないということだ。 では何が本当の原因なのだろうか。いろいろと試した結果、ここだろうと目星がついたのがメモリだ。スペック上では同等であるはずのメモリだが、Sandraのグラフィックスメモリーテストを実行してみたところ、TU116やGDDR6版TU117よりも20GB/s程度遅いという結果が出た。バス幅やクロックに違いがないとすれば、内部でなにかしらレイテンシが伸びるような状況になっているのではないかと推測できる。断定はできないが、TU106のメモリバス幅は本来256bitであり、TU106版GTX 1650はその半分に制限したものだ。この仕様変更、本来利用可能なものがDisable化されたことでボトルネックが生じた可能性は否定できないだろう。   続いて消費電力を見ていきたい。消費電力テストでは、3DMarkのストレステスト実行中(15分)の最大値とアイドル時(ベンチマーク終了後15分)の最小値を計測してみた。  アイドル時に関しては、TU117版が35台、TU106が37.3W、TU116が36.8Wだった。TU117とそのほかでわかれた格好だが、ストレートにダイサイズが小さいほど消費電力も小さいと言えるのかどうかは断言できない。せいぜい1.7W差なので搭載するファンや電源回路の変換効率の違いで生まれた可能性もある。 高負荷時は明確な差がついた。もっとも電力値が小さかったのはGDDR5版のTU117。次にGDDR6版TU117、そしてTU116、TU106という順だ。TU106はほかよりも頭1つ飛び抜けて高い。電力値が最小だったGDDR5版TU117とTU106版では25W超の差がある。いちおうTU106は今回唯一、デュアルファンのモデルなので、その分だけ消費電力が大きかった可能性もある。ただしそこを加味してもワットパフォーマンスでは、GDDR6版TU117やTU116がベターと言えるのではないだろうか。 参考までに、PCMark 10のDigital Content Creationのスコアも示しておこう。確かにGPUごとの差はついているが、ここまでベンチマークほどストレートではなく、TU106やGDDR5版TU117が健闘しているテストもある。それでも安定して高スコアなのはTU116およびGDDR6版TU117だろうか。  NVENCの違いをチェック。HEVCのBフレーム対応は必要!?NVENCに関する違いも確認しておこう。まず、各GPUのNVENCに性能的違いがあるのか、Sandraのビデオトランスコーディングテストで調査した。VC1からH.264へ、H.264からH.264へという2つのテストがあるが、どちらも、どのGPUでも誤差の範囲と言える数値である。NVENCのエンコーディング性能では違いがないと言える。  一方、TU116/106は第7世代NVENEC、TU117は第6世代NVENECである。ここで異なるのがH.265 HEVCのBフレームをサポートしているかどうかだ。サポートしているのは第7世代NVENCで、第6世代NVENCではサポートされていない。これはNVIDIAのNVENCの比較表で確認できる。 とはいえ実際、使える使えないを確認してみたい。今回はAvidemuxを使い、各GPUでどのような挙動になるのかを調べてみた。 Avidemuxを起動し映像を読み込ませ、左ペインのVideo Output欄プルダウンから「Nbidia HEVC」を選ぶ。これがH.265 HEVCの指定だ。続いてその下の「構成」をクリックすることでオプションを指定できる。最下段にある「Maximum Consecutive B-Frames」がBフレームの指定箇所になる。ここに適当な数値を入れ、ファイルを出力させてみた。 TU116/106に関しては問題なくエンコード処理が進行する。一方、TU117では直後にエラーメッセージが表示された。「Cannot set up encoder. The configuration supplied to the encoder may be incompatible or the encorder may depend on futures unavailable on this system.」といった内容だ。H.265 HEVCのBフレームをサポートしていないためにエンコーダーのセットアップでエラーが出ているというわけだ。    つまり、H.265 HEVCのBフレームを扱わなければどのGPUも同じ程度の性能だ。一方、これを利用したいという方なら、TU106/116版GeForce GTX 1650カードがもっとも低コストなソリューションと言える。 価格、性能、NVENC、電力の違いを知って賢く選ぼう今回の調査を踏まえ、4製品の特徴をまとめておこう。 TU106版GeForce GTX 1650 玄人志向「GF-GTX1650D6-E4GB/DF2」・安価 TU116版GeForce GTX 1650 GIGABYTE「GeForce GTX 1650 D6 OC 4G (rev. 2.0)」・性能ではトップ TU117のGDDR6版GeForce GTX 1650 ZOTAC「ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 OC GDDR6」・性能は僅差で2番手 TU117のGDDR5版GeForce GTX 1650 ZOTAC「ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 OC」・補助電源が不要  同じGeForce GTX 1650でありながら、4つの製品はそれぞれ特徴のある製品だった。価格、性能、NVENC、電力のすべてを満たすことはないが、1製品あたり2つ程度満たしてくれる。このように同じGPU名で異なるコードネームが混在するというのは稀にあるものの多くはない。今は3種、メモリを含めれば4種から選べるというなかなか楽しい状況にある。GeForce GTX 1650を求める方は、自分のPCにとって何が必要なのか、よく検討してみると自作PCがより楽しめるだろう。 からの記事と詳細 https://ift.tt/32BBUTi 科学＆テクノロジー  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Commentary: Pfizer reaches COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough – a step closer to pandemic's end - CNA Posted: 11 Nov 2020 05:34 PM PST CORK, Ireland: Preliminary data from the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine trial suggests it provides 90 per cent efficacy at preventing the disease. At the very least, this news will result in a large sigh of relief across the vaccine community. It signifies a breakthrough – it's the first announcement that a vaccine can protect against SARS-CoV-2 infection in humans. This shows it can be done. But how well it can be done is still a big question that no one has the answer to. These results are promising, but there's a lot more we now need to confirm. READ: Commentary: Why rushing a COVID-19 vaccine could spell disasterFAST-TRACKING THE INTERIM ANALYSIS The 90 per cent efficacy is a strong result, but we should remember that this is an interim analysis, based on 94 cases of disease that have occurred across those receiving either the vaccine or a placebo. Pfizer has noted in its trial protocol that it needs at least 164 cases of disease to occur across the study to reliably assess the vaccine's efficacy. If subsequent cases occur more frequently among those who have had the vaccine rather than the placebo, then this efficacy figure will fall. So we don't yet know if this number is truly reflective of the vaccine's protective ability – meaning crucially, we need to get to the end of the trial. But if this is the case, why announce these interim results now? LISTEN: The COVID-19 vaccine will be the biggest product launch in history. Can we pull it off?An interim analysis of trial data like this isn't uncommon, particularly in phase 3 vaccine trials, as it's not unusual for trials to fail during testing. Therefore, you need to determine as soon as you can, with as much robustness as you can, whether pursuing the trial is worthwhile. Continuing when things are futile is a waste of resources – and in some cases unethical. The only way to see whether continuing is the right option is for the trial's independent data and safety monitoring board to look at some or all of the results.  For COVID-19, where time is a major constraint, many efforts have been made to incorporate interim analysis into studies in a way that provides an answer, with some confidence, in as timely a manner as possible. This interim review was therefore planned at the start of the trial, and has fulfilled its purpose. It is a very positive signal that the trial needs to continue – even if the actual data from the review leaves us with many questions. Participants in this phase 3 trial received two doses of the vaccine, and measurement of its efficacy was taken seven days after the second dose was given. This is likely around the height of the initial immune response. It will be really important to understand how durable this initial protection is after this point. A pessimist would hope for retaining efficacy for at least three months. An optimist would hope for retaining high levels of protection for a number of years. READ: Commentary: Could Indonesia be Southeast Asian hub for Chinese COVID-19 vaccine?However, being realistic, this mRNA-based vaccine platform is new, and so we'll need time to understand if and when the initial response starts to wane. We also need to understand if this vaccine and others in development can induce good memory responses from the immune system that will provide protection for years to come. It's also important to identify the exact immune response that is mediating protection – what are called the "correlates of protection". Is it a particular type of antibody or T cell that's involved, and what is the threshold amount of these needed to protect an individual? With this knowledge, future trials can focus on measuring the quantity of these immune markers in individuals to better assess whether vaccines are working.  One other important thing we need to know is whether the vaccine completely prevents people from getting infected with any virus at all, or if it simply makes people more effective at fighting the virus off if they do succumb to some infection. This will govern whether the vaccine prevents only disease or can prevent viral transmission as well. All we know at the moment is that it has reduced symptomatic cases by 90 per cent. READ: Commentary: Who will get the COVID-19 vaccine Chinese companies are developing?THE ROAD TO APPROVAL AND BEYOND Though it doesn't have the full picture, the US FDA has said it will consider authorising the vaccine for emergency use – ahead of full approval – once the trial has collected two months' worth of safety data on half of the participants. Pfizer expects to have this available by the third week of November. The trial will also continue for many months to come – in order to reach that reliability threshold of 164 cases of disease – and there will be further follow-ups looking at the vaccine's safety and the immune responses and protection it elicits in different groups of participants. This should give further transparent information and confidence on how well this vaccine works and in which populations. The highest risk groups will then be first in line for immunisation. In the UK, this will likely include care home residents and workers, health and social care workers, and people over 80, assuming the vaccine is shown to be safe and effective in these groups. In Europe, prioritised groups include healthcare and essential workers, those vulnerable to the disease and socioeconomically disadvantaged people.  But even if approved, big challenges remain. Pfizer expects to have 50 million doses ready this year, enough to immunise 25 million people, and 1.3 billion by the end of 2021. Given the size of the world's population – and the fact the vaccine requires two doses – universal coverage is a long way away. The other vaccines in development therefore remain just as important. We will need more than one vaccine for global coverage, and to ensure we have the right one for each age and health cohort. Overall, these results should be celebrated, but with the realisation that this is only one step in the journey. We still have a long way to go in getting the world back to normal – but the compass is pointing in the right direction. | Singapore-Hong Kong air travel bubble possibly world first: Ong Ye Kung - Yahoo News Singapore Posted: 11 Nov 2020 05:34 PM PST  SINGAPORE – The Singapore-Hong Kong air travel bubble (ATB) is the first of its kind in the region – perhaps the world – and that is significant, said Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung on Wednesday (11 November). In a virtual media conference, he said, "It is an air travel bubble between two regional aviation hubs who decide to open up to each other, and that is significant. There is no restriction on what kind of travellers so it's quite unlike the RGL (Reciprocal Green Lane), which is restricted to business travellers. This covers all travellers: couples uniting, partners uniting, visiting families, tourism, so on and so forth." Under the ATB, which will start on 22 November, travellers between Singapore and Hong Kong will be subject to COVID-19 tests, in lieu of quarantine or Stay-Home Notice. There will be no restrictions on the purpose of travel and no requirement for a controlled itinerary or sponsorship, but travellers must bear the cost of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests. It will begin with one flight a day into each city, with 200 passengers each way. Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airlines, the respective flagship carriers for each city, will take turns to run flights on alternate days. Ong stressed that the ATB is not only the first step to rebuild the respective aviation hubs, but "in the case of Singapore, (it) is not just about the aviation sector or tourism sector, it is about making sure there is a future for Changi, there is a future for SIA". Asked why the two sides had chosen to go straight into the ATB rather than begin with an RGL, Ong said it was down to the two cities' familiarity with each other as aviation hubs, and a recognition that the respective airports and airlines are "critical to our survival". The Republic was also responding to the territory's invitation to various countries to establish an ATB "And so from day one, I think we don't beat around the bush, to say that let's go for air travel bubble, rather than take it step by step. So it's really a meeting of the minds." Ong added that if successful, the ATB will be a good reference point for others. "If we can demonstrate to the world that this is successful, it becomes a good reference point, a template and a model that other places, other territories and countries can look at as a point of reference. There are quite a number of places where they have very successfully controlled the virus and epidemic, just like Hong Kong and Singapore have, and they are considering how to open their borders and I hope this could be a template and a reference point for them." A six-hour wait in Hong Kong?Under the ATB arrangements, travellers from Singapore to the territory must be tested for the coronavirus within 72 hours of their departure, then take another test upon arrival at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). They are also required to wait at HKIA for their test results. When asked how long the process would take, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) director-general Kevin Shum said it would likely take "less than six hours". Ong expressed hopes that it would take four hours, and that drinks and amenities would be provided. Acknowledging the "inconvenience and discomfort" of the process, the Minister nevertheless said, "This is as close as it gets to pre-COVID travel, in the sense that wherever you are now, on the Hong Kong side or Singapore side, you don't need anyone to sponsor, to tell you you can travel, or you need a special reason, then you can travel. Now the empowerment is turned around again...you can travel if you want to." Ong admitted that he was unsure about travellers' response to the scheme, and reckoned that they would take a wait-and-see approach first. "I want to see whether I can send off the first batch of Singaporeans on the 22nd of November. It may be a half empty or an empty plane, or a full plane," said Ong, adding that he hopes the airlines will be "responsible" in their pricing, given the pent up demand for travel. Suspension of ATB?There are also provisions in place if there is a resurgence of COVID-19 cases on either side. If the average number of daily unlinked cases over a seven-day period rises to more than five in either Singapore or Hong Kong, the ATB will be suspended for two weeks. The ATB will resume if the number falls back below five on the last day of the suspension period. Asked what would happen to those who have already booked flights and tests if the ATB is indeed suspended, Ong's response was bullish. "We didn't set up the ATB or the ATP system with the expectation that we will suspend it someday. We are working really hard to make sure we don't have to suspend it, but this is just in case there are clusters again." Nevertheless, there will be procedures for travellers to defer their plans until the ATB restarts, said Ong. The 50-year-old said that in the early days of the pandemic, the priority was eradicating the virus from the community, and this necessitated the closing of borders. "But now if that is still our problem statement, that is itself a problem, because it means there's a high chance that at the end of all this, we have no Changi Airport and we have no SIA." He added, "It's not about the economy, it's about our life...So our choice now is, can we accept some controlled risk that we can mitigate to a very small extent. And we take some of those risks, but give us ourselves the best chance…to continue to maintain our way of life." | Commentary: Pfizer reaches COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough – a step closer to pandemic's end - CNA Posted: 11 Nov 2020 05:17 PM PST CORK, Ireland: Preliminary data from the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine trial suggests it provides 90 per cent efficacy at preventing the disease. At the very least, this news will result in a large sigh of relief across the vaccine community. It signifies a breakthrough – it's the first announcement that a vaccine can protect against SARS-CoV-2 infection in humans. This shows it can be done. But how well it can be done is still a big question that no one has the answer to. These results are promising, but there's a lot more we now need to confirm. READ: Commentary: Why rushing a COVID-19 vaccine could spell disasterFAST-TRACKING THE INTERIM ANALYSIS The 90 per cent efficacy is a strong result, but we should remember that this is an interim analysis, based on 94 cases of disease that have occurred across those receiving either the vaccine or a placebo. Pfizer has noted in its trial protocol that it needs at least 164 cases of disease to occur across the study to reliably assess the vaccine's efficacy. If subsequent cases occur more frequently among those who have had the vaccine rather than the placebo, then this efficacy figure will fall. So we don't yet know if this number is truly reflective of the vaccine's protective ability – meaning crucially, we need to get to the end of the trial. But if this is the case, why announce these interim results now? LISTEN: The COVID-19 vaccine will be the biggest product launch in history. Can we pull it off?An interim analysis of trial data like this isn't uncommon, particularly in phase 3 vaccine trials, as it's not unusual for trials to fail during testing. Therefore, you need to determine as soon as you can, with as much robustness as you can, whether pursuing the trial is worthwhile. Continuing when things are futile is a waste of resources – and in some cases unethical. The only way to see whether continuing is the right option is for the trial's independent data and safety monitoring board to look at some or all of the results. For COVID-19, where time is a major constraint, many efforts have been made to incorporate interim analysis into studies in a way that provides an answer, with some confidence, in as timely a manner as possible. This interim review was therefore planned at the start of the trial, and has fulfilled its purpose. It is a very positive signal that the trial needs to continue – even if the actual data from the review leaves us with many questions. READ: Explainer: Where are we in the COVID-19 vaccine race?READ: Commentary: COVID-19 vaccine – why is it taking so long to develop one?REVIEWING EFFICACY AND IMMUNE RESPONSE THE NEXT STEPS One key thing these interim results don't tell us is how long protection lasts. Participants in this phase 3 trial received two doses of the vaccine, and measurement of its efficacy was taken seven days after the second dose was given. This is likely around the height of the initial immune response. It will be really important to understand how durable this initial protection is after this point. A pessimist would hope for retaining efficacy for at least three months. An optimist would hope for retaining high levels of protection for a number of years. READ: Commentary: Could Indonesia be Southeast Asian hub for Chinese COVID-19 vaccine?However, being realistic, this mRNA-based vaccine platform is new, and so we'll need time to understand if and when the initial response starts to wane. We also need to understand if this vaccine and others in development can induce good memory responses from the immune system that will provide protection for years to come. It's also important to identify the exact immune response that is mediating protection – what are called the "correlates of protection". Is it a particular type of antibody or T cell that's involved, and what is the threshold amount of these needed to protect an individual? With this knowledge, future trials can focus on measuring the quantity of these immune markers in individuals to better assess whether vaccines are working. One other important thing we need to know is whether the vaccine completely prevents people from getting infected with any virus at all, or if it simply makes people more effective at fighting the virus off if they do succumb to some infection. This will govern whether the vaccine prevents only disease or can prevent viral transmission as well. All we know at the moment is that it has reduced symptomatic cases by 90 per cent. READ: Commentary: Who will get the COVID-19 vaccine Chinese companies are developing?THE ROAD TO APPROVAL AND BEYOND Though it doesn't have the full picture, the US FDA has said it will consider authorising the vaccine for emergency use – ahead of full approval – once the trial has collected two months' worth of safety data on half of the participants. Pfizer expects to have this available by the third week of November. The trial will also continue for many months to come – in order to reach that reliability threshold of 164 cases of disease – and there will be further follow-ups looking at the vaccine's safety and the immune responses and protection it elicits in different groups of participants. This should give further transparent information and confidence on how well this vaccine works and in which populations. READ: Commentary: The challenge of keeping COVID-19 vaccines at sub-zero temperatures during distributionIf the vaccine's safety and efficacy are looking good, it will then be submitted to regulatory agencies for full approval. The highest risk groups will then be first in line for immunisation. In the UK, this will likely include care home residents and workers, health and social care workers, and people over 80, assuming the vaccine is shown to be safe and effective in these groups. In Europe, prioritised groups include healthcare and essential workers, those vulnerable to the disease and socioeconomically disadvantaged people. But even if approved, big challenges remain. Pfizer expects to have 50 million doses ready this year, enough to immunise 25 million people, and 1.3 billion by the end of 2021. Given the size of the world's population – and the fact the vaccine requires two doses – universal coverage is a long way away. The other vaccines in development therefore remain just as important. We will need more than one vaccine for global coverage, and to ensure we have the right one for each age and health cohort. Overall, these results should be celebrated, but with the realisation that this is only one step in the journey. We still have a long way to go in getting the world back to normal – but the compass is pointing in the right direction. | Singapore-Hong Kong air travel bubble possibly world first: Ong Ye Kung - Yahoo News Singapore Posted: 11 Nov 2020 05:17 PM PST SINGAPORE – The Singapore-Hong Kong air travel bubble (ATB) is the first of its kind in the region – perhaps the world – and that is significant, said Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung on Wednesday (11 November). In a virtual media conference, he said, "It is an air travel bubble between two regional aviation hubs who decide to open up to each other, and that is significant. There is no restriction on what kind of travellers so it's quite unlike the RGL (Reciprocal Green Lane), which is restricted to business travellers. This covers all travellers: couples uniting, partners uniting, visiting families, tourism, so on and so forth." Under the ATB, which will start on 22 November, travellers between Singapore and Hong Kong will be subject to COVID-19 tests, in lieu of quarantine or Stay-Home Notice. There will be no restrictions on the purpose of travel and no requirement for a controlled itinerary or sponsorship, but travellers must bear the cost of the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests. It will begin with one flight a day into each city, with 200 passengers each way. Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airlines, the respective flagship carriers for each city, will take turns to run flights on alternate days. Ong stressed that the ATB is not only the first step to rebuild the respective aviation hubs, but "in the case of Singapore, (it) is not just about the aviation sector or tourism sector, it is about making sure there is a future for Changi, there is a future for SIA". Asked why the two sides had chosen to go straight into the ATB rather than begin with an RGL, Ong said it was down to the two cities' familiarity with each other as aviation hubs, and a recognition that the respective airports and airlines are "critical to our survival". The Republic was also responding to the territory's invitation to various countries to establish an ATB "And so from day one, I think we don't beat around the bush, to say that let's go for air travel bubble, rather than take it step by step. So it's really a meeting of the minds." Ong added that if successful, the ATB will be a good reference point for others. "If we can demonstrate to the world that this is successful, it becomes a good reference point, a template and a model that other places, other territories and countries can look at as a point of reference. There are quite a number of places where they have very successfully controlled the virus and epidemic, just like Hong Kong and Singapore have, and they are considering how to open their borders and I hope this could be a template and a reference point for them." A six-hour wait in Hong Kong?Under the ATB arrangements, travellers from Singapore to the territory must be tested for the coronavirus within 72 hours of their departure, then take another test upon arrival at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). They are also required to wait at HKIA for their test results. When asked how long the process would take, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) director-general Kevin Shum said it would likely take "less than six hours". Ong expressed hopes that it would take four hours, and that drinks and amenities would be provided. Acknowledging the "inconvenience and discomfort" of the process, the Minister nevertheless said, "This is as close as it gets to pre-COVID travel, in the sense that wherever you are now, on the Hong Kong side or Singapore side, you don't need anyone to sponsor, to tell you you can travel, or you need a special reason, then you can travel. Now the empowerment is turned around again...you can travel if you want to." Ong admitted that he was unsure about travellers' response to the scheme, and reckoned that they would take a wait-and-see approach first. "I want to see whether I can send off the first batch of Singaporeans on the 22nd of November. It may be a half empty or an empty plane, or a full plane," said Ong, adding that he hopes the airlines will be "responsible" in their pricing, given the pent up demand for travel. Suspension of ATB?There are also provisions in place if there is a resurgence of COVID-19 cases on either side. If the average number of daily unlinked cases over a seven-day period rises to more than five in either Singapore or Hong Kong, the ATB will be suspended for two weeks. The ATB will resume if the number falls back below five on the last day of the suspension period. Asked what would happen to those who have already booked flights and tests if the ATB is indeed suspended, Ong's response was bullish. "We didn't set up the ATB or the ATP system with the expectation that we will suspend it someday. We are working really hard to make sure we don't have to suspend it, but this is just in case there are clusters again." Nevertheless, there will be procedures for travellers to defer their plans until the ATB restarts, said Ong. The 50-year-old said that in the early days of the pandemic, the priority was eradicating the virus from the community, and this necessitated the closing of borders. "But now if that is still our problem statement, that is itself a problem, because it means there's a high chance that at the end of all this, we have no Changi Airport and we have no SIA." He added, "It's not about the economy, it's about our life...So our choice now is, can we accept some controlled risk that we can mitigate to a very small extent. And we take some of those risks, but give us ourselves the best chance…to continue to maintain our way of life." ルーキーイヤーだった1999年から4年間、ファーム監督を務めたのがセレモニーで花束を贈った岡田彰布さん。当時はケガも多く、また「ファームで好投するのに1軍へ行ったら打たれる」という声をよく聞いたものです。でも岡田さんが1軍監督に就任した2004年から、藤川投手の野球人生が大きく変わったのは周知のこと。 2005年、スポニチの携帯サイトで私はこんな記事を書いていました。9月28日、甲子園で行われた巨人戦に勝って優勝へのマジックナンバーを1とした試合で、たまたま知り合いからチケットをもらって観戦した時のものです。 『1回の猛攻も見応えあり、途中で追い上げられた後はJFKが貫録のリレー。優勝するチームとはこういうものなんだなあと感心した。藤川はすごい！あんなに球が速くなって…としみじみ思っていた試合後のお立ち台で「涙の準備はできていますので。皆さん、よろしいでしょうか？」と言いながら笑う藤川。それを聞いて優勝を待たずにもう泣けてきてしまった。思えば2002年9月11日、神宮で先発して5年目のプロ初勝利を手にした藤川はヒーローインタビューで男泣きに泣いた。(後略)』 この年の新入団発表会で鶴直人投手や若竹竜士投手、金村大裕投手が「目標とするのは藤川投手」と言い、以降も新入団発表会で「藤川投手のようなストレートを投げたい」という言葉はおなじみになりました。他球団のルーキーからも「対戦してみたいのは阪神の藤川投手」と名前が出てきたくらいです。 「球児さんと会社に感謝！」の引退試合観戦 そんな藤川投手を「雲の上の人」と語るのは、元阪神タイガースの玉置隆さん(34)。阪神を退団後、2016年から鴻池運輸株式会社の社員として、社会人野球の新日鉄住金鹿島(現在は日本製鉄鹿島)で4年間プレー、昨年末に現役を退きました。今は鴻池運輸株式会社鹿島支店で働いています。 昨年11月の社会人日本選手権大会(京セラドーム)で大阪に来ていた際も「球児さんが食事に連れていってくれた」と言っていたし、年末のゴルフも恒例のようで、よく名前が出ていました。ただ詳しく聞いたことはなかったので、この機会にじっくり話してもらったわけです。その内容をご紹介する前に、急きょ現地観戦となった引退試合の話から。 実は、きのうの引退試合は見に行く予定がなかったのです。平日で仕事があるのはもちろん、「僕よりもっと見たい人がいるから。僕は直接、球児さんとお話できるので、僕の1人分だけでも足を運んでもらった方がいい」と言っていたところ、2日前になって「チケットを取るから見に来るか？」と、藤川投手から連絡がありました。 ありがたいと感謝しながらも、仕事を休めるかどうかわからないと言っていたのですが、会社の方で当日午後と翌日の休みを許可してくださったとか。よかったですね。それで、退団後初の甲子園へやってきました。甲子園のスタンドで試合を見るのも、ファーム時代のチャート(スコア)つけ以来だったそうです。 引退登板とセレモニーの感想を尋ねると「感動しました！最高でした」と玉置さん。それから「引退試合じゃないですよ、あのボールは。現役バリバリ。ほぼ150キロですもんね。原監督の粋なはからいもあって。本当は三振締めがよかったんでしょうけど、まあ真剣勝負なので」と続けました。 藤川投手の登場曲は学校のチャイム そして「リンドバーグ、甲子園で聴けてよかった！あの曲は、僕の中では学校のチャイムみたいなものなんです」と言います。学校のチャイム？毎日のように流れるから？「いえ、僕の知っている球児さんは追いつかれたことがなかったので、あの曲が流れるともう試合が終わるんだという合図。だから下校のチャイムですね」 ほほ～なるほど。さあ皆さん帰りましょう、という下校のチャイムですか！うまい表現ですねえ。自身の登場曲をそんなふうに、それもチームメイトから思ってもらえるなんて、クローザー冥利に尽きるってものでしょう。これは明言として保存させていただきます！ また、今回は玉置さん1人だけでの観戦だったのですが、スタンドではOBのみんなと再会できたらしく、それも嬉しかったみたいですよ。「本当に呼んでいただいてよかったです。球児さんに、そして休ませてくださった上司や会社の方に感謝しています」と繰り返していました。 尖りまくっていた自分に「そのままでいい」と では阪神時代の思い出を聞きましょう。ここは"玉置投手"と書かせていただきます。 玉置投手が指名されたのは2004年のドラフト会議。2004年といえば藤川投手が入団6年目で、シーズン途中に"覚醒"した年です。そして玉置投手が1年目の2005年からはもう『JFK』の一角を担い、やがて伝説のクローザーとなっていくわけで、玉置投手の印象も「僕が入った時から大ブレーク！ずっと雲の上の人です」という感じでした。 そんな人と近づけたのは？「1年目か2年目の秋季キャンプ(2005年か2006年・倉敷)で、声をかけていただいたんです。当時の僕は、尖りまくっていました。高卒で入団した、世間知らずのお山の大将。コーチとも"ケンカさせてもらう"くらいで(笑)。とにかく尖っていたんです。だから僕の周りには人がいなかった」 社会人はもちろん、阪神でも「玉置隊長」と選手やコーチ陣が言っていたほど頼りにされるイメージだったのに、そんな尖り時代がありましたっけ？ そういえば1年目の玉置投手に、とある記者が「いいスライダーですね」と話しかけたら「僕、スライダーはないので」とクールに答えたのを思い出しました。本人にとってはカーブなんですよね、握り方も。ただ球の変化がスライダーなので、実況や解説の方々はそう言っていたものです。とはいえ、そこで「そうですね」と話を合わせなかった18歳は、確かに異質だったかもしれません。  しかしまあ、コーチにも噛みついていたとは…知らなかったですねえ。「そんな僕に、球児さんは声をかけてくれた。俺も高卒で入ったから気持ちがわかる、と言って。でも接点は唯一、お互いに高卒というとこだけなんですけどね」。お母さん思いという点も共通していたかも、と私は勝手に思いました。 「僕の話を球児さんは全部受け入れてくれました。球児さんから怒られたことがありませんね。『お前はそれでいい』『その考えは面白い』って。雲の上の人が、それでいいと言ってくれるんです。こんな僕に、そのままでいいと」。なお、会話の中で「こんな僕に」というフレーズが何度も出てきます。 「ご飯にも、よく連れて行ってもらっていますね。ありえないでしょう？なんで僕が？って思いましたよ。僕が1軍に上がった時も、球児さんが2軍に来てはった時も、いつも声をかけてもらった」 目の当たりにした切り替えのすごさ阪神時代で一番思い出に残っていることを教えてください。 「1軍へ行って、球児さんも一緒にブルペンで待機していた時のことが忘れられません。そこでの立ち居振る舞いが。この人は今から5万人の前で投げるのか？っていうくらい肩の力が抜けているんです。いつも、ずっと、そうでした。みんなを笑わせてくれたりして。僕なんか試合中ということを忘れるくらい笑いますもん！」  「でも(ベンチから)電話がかかってきて、行くぞ！となったら変わる。３や4から10に上げるって人はよくいると思うんですけど、球児さんは0から100まで上がるんです。僕にはそう見えました」 「たとえば打たれた後もそうですね、切り替えのすごさは。僕が打たれて落ち込んでいたら、メシ行くぞ！って。悩まない、振り向かない。ずっと前を向いている。過去なんかどうでもいい、という人です。毎日、楽しく野球をしてはりましたね。本当に野球が好きで、遊ぶことも好きで。すべて全力！そのイメージです。今まで見たことがない人」 野球に関してのアドバイスなどもあったんですか？「それはほとんどないですね。でも2013年、クビも覚悟していた時に1月の自主トレを一緒にやろうと誘ってもらって、あの時にご指導いただきました。そこで僕の中に今までなかった感覚が芽生えたというか、技術的なことも考え方も含めて、大きく変わったかも。その年が自分のキャリアハイでしたから。あれがなかったら今の僕はいませんね」  「勝負勘もそうです。自主トレの中でサッカーとかやっていて、ポンと置きにいったり、相手に気を使ったりしたら、球児さんに『お前、それは違う！』って怒られました。『勝つことや！』と」。単なるゲームのようなものでも？「そうです。勝負なんですね、すべて。その勝負には勝たなきゃいけないと」 「何をやらせてもすごい！野球、ゴルフ、サッカー。これをセンスと呼ぶのだろうと思いました。野球をやっていなくても、きっと何かで、世界で戦っていただろうなと思う。それは間違いないですね」 「球児さんの言葉がなかったら今の僕はない」2015年、戦力外を通達され合同トライアウトを受験した玉置投手は、社会人チームからのオファーを受けて迷っていました。その時、大阪の串カツ屋さんで一緒に食事をした藤川投手が、こう言ったそうです。「俺には悩む理由がわからん。行け。行ってみないと見えん景色がある。何億で野球をやろうが、何百万でやろうが同じや」と。 玉置投手は「あの言葉がなかったら、今ここにいなかったと思う」と言っていました。背中を押してもらった大切な場面ですが、もしかすると藤川投手は、目の前にいる後輩が何を迷っているのか本当に理解できなかったのかもしれませんね。でも玉置投手にとっては、まさに目から鱗が落ちる真っすぐな助言だったでしょう。  また「結果は出し続けることに意味がある。1年や2年じゃなくて。という話も球児さんはしていましたね。その言葉があったので僕も社会人の4年間、結果を出し続けようと頑張れた」と玉置投手は言います。参考までに昨年の記事をどうぞ。→＜元阪神・玉置隆投手 野球人生のエピローグは「最高に幸せな4年間でした」＞ そんな頑張りを新聞記事などで見てくれていたようで、昨年のシーズン中には「カッコええ生き方してるまあ」というLINEメッセージが届いたんですって。これも、かなり嬉しくて「しびれたっすよ！」と玉置さん。「去年辞めて何と言われるかなと思っていたら、『ようやった』と言ってもらいました。嬉しかった」 そうそう、玉置投手と入れ違いで藤川投手が阪神に復帰した際に「球児さんが戻ってくるなら、もう1年やりたかったと言ったんですけど『過去には何もない！』って返されました」と笑います。「過去は関係ない。興味ない」が口癖の藤川投手らしいセリフ。だから、きっと「～だったら」「～なら」という考えは存在しないのかもしれませんね。 2つの国家試験も一発で合格！ここで玉置さん自身の話を書いておきましょう。昨年11月の日本選手権終了後に引退して野球部を辞めた玉置さんは、冒頭でご紹介したように鴻池運輸株式会社の鹿島支店で働いています。「まずは会社の戦力になること」を目標に、朝5時半起きで頑張る毎日。「そのために必要な資格を取ろうと、生まれて初めて勉強しました」  え？生まれて初めてって(笑)、言いきっていいのかしら。それはどんな資格ですか？「運行管理者と衛生管理者の資格で、2つとも国家試験なんですよ。運行管理者の方はコロナの影響で年2回の試験が1回に減りました」。ということはチャンスも減ったわけですね。 試験勉強はどれくらいの期間？「勉強が3か月、試験2つで計5か月です。仕事が終わったあと家に帰って勉強、休みの日は図書館へ行って勉強」。ひゃあ～それは大変！集中する習慣を保つのもしんどいでしょう。「家族と一緒に住んでいたら逆に勉強できなかったかも。試験と仕事の両立は無理でしたね」。なるほど、ここは単身赴任が幸いしたかもしれません。 運行管理者は3月の試験を受ける予定が延期されて8月に、衛生管理者の方は毎月ある試験のうち7月に受けて、見事どちらも一発合格！それだけじゃなく会社独自の試験もあって、合わせて3つ連続で合格したそうです。これには奥さんも、地元・和歌山の皆さん方も驚愕だったとか。本人でさえ「あの玉置が！？」と言うくらいで。  それには理由がありました。まず会社の戦力になることはもちろん、「どうしても鹿島にいる間に資格を取っておきたかったんです。それが鹿島支店長との約束だったし、いろんな人に助けてもらって野球をやってこられたので、自分が頑張らないといけないことは頑張りたかった」というもの。 また「勉強をしてこなかったコンプレックスもあって。野球以外に何もできない自分が、頑張ればできるという自信をつけたかったのもありますね。今後、仕事を覚えていく以上、頑張れるきっかけになればと思ったから」だと話しています。すべてクリアできて何より。これで気持ちが楽になったかと思いきや「仕事の方が数倍むずかしいですよ」とのこと。日々これ勉強ですね。 5年連続の都市対抗出場に涙現役を引退して仕事漬けの生活でも、野球部との縁が切れるわけではなく、都市対抗野球の予選も現地で応援したそうです。9月初旬の茨城1次予選を順当に勝ち上がって北関東2次予選へ進んだ日本製鉄鹿島。2次予選の1回戦は2対0でエイジェックを下し、準決勝のSUBARU戦は2対1で勝ちました。 しかし、第1代表決定戦の決勝で日立製作所に4対0の完封負け…。やはりSUBARU、日立製作所との三つ巴は延々と続きますね。そして迎えた第2代表決定戦で再びSUBARUと対戦し、7回まで3対0とリードされていました。ここで底力を見せるのが鹿島。8回に3点取って追いつくと、延長10回に1点勝ち越して逃げ切り！飯田晴海投手が10回完投勝利です。  相変わらずハラハラ、ドキドキさせて勝つという日本製鉄鹿島ならではの戦いでしたが、晴れて5年連続の都市対抗出場となっています。ちょうど代表決定戦の2試合が10月3日と4日の土日だったため、どちらもしっかり観戦できた玉置さんは「なんで毎年こんな試合になるんですかね」と笑いながら「本当にすごい！感動しました！」と大喜び。 ことしはマネージャーとなった島田直人さん(帝京高校で阪神・原口選手の後輩)が「玉置さんも来てくれて、泣きながら応援してくれていたみたいです」と教えてくれたので、確認してみると「いやぁ最近ほんまにヤバいですね。感動してすぐ泣いちゃいます。すごい泣きました！」と素直に認めています。 「自分がいなくなって負けるほど嫌なものはないから、決めてくれてよかった。来年以降はいつ負けてもいい(笑)」と言いながら、また泣いて応援するんでしょう。東京ドームの本戦も「行きますよ！」と張り切っていました。ことし唯一の全国大会、どんどん勝ち上がってほしいですね。 「僕にとっては、いつまで経っても雲の上の人」では再び、藤川投手との話。会話の中で玉置投手は何度も「僕から連絡したことがない」と言っていますが、実は一度だけあったそうです。ことし藤川投手の引退を報道で知った時で「その日は、あちこちから連絡が来て大変だろうとわかっていたけど…。でも連絡したかったんです。どうしても。だから人生で初めて、僕からLINEをしました」とのこと。 「お疲れ様でした、って書いて送ったんです。本当にLINEとかメールとか、すごい数だったはずなのに、なんと5分で返事が来た！びっくりしました。こんな僕に？と思って。いろんな人から連絡あったのに、僕なんかに5分で返してくれたんですよ！」。思い出して少し興奮気味。本当に嬉しかったんでしょうね。また"こんな僕に"連発です。そして続けました。とっておきの話を聞かせるように。  「そうそう！僕なんかを、球児さんは"友人"って言ってくれるんです。『また友人として飲みに行こうな』って。野球の後輩みたいな、ちっちゃい世界じゃないんですよ。深いでしょう？」 友だち！それはすごいですね。「僕にとっては、いつまで経っても雲の上の人ですけど(笑)」。その雲上人は「ひとこと、ひとことが重い。それに話し上手だから面白いんですよね。プライベートの球児さん、本当に面白い！」と力説してくれました。何もかもが魅力的な人ですね。「本当にそうです。ご一緒できる機会があれば、また話が聞きたい」と言いながら「僕はずっと緊張しています。越えてはいけないと思っています。一線？一線どころか二線(笑)。今も同じ」と玉置さん。 ところで、若くて尖っていた僕になぜ声をかけてくれたんですか？と聞いてみたことはある？「ないです。一生、聞けない。聞かないです」。それだけ仲良くしてもらっていたら、少しずつでも慣れて近しくなるものですけど、徹底して距離感を保っているわけで。ある意味、そんな玉置さんもすごいなあと思いました。 藤川投手へのメッセージを 「お疲れ様でした。ずっとカッコいい球児さんのままでしたね。ボロボロで終わる人が多いのに、僕たちが憧れ続けた球児さんのままでマウンドを去っていく。すごくカッコよかった！今まで見た中で一番の引退試合でした。まだまだ力のあるところで身を引く、これぞ引退なんだなと思います。とりあえず、ゆっくり休んでいただきたいですね。もう野球のことや体のことを考えなくていいので、家族とゆっくり過ごしてください」 「僕たちが憧れ続けた球児さんの姿のまま」と言いますが、社会人の4年間で鹿島の選手たちが玉置投手に抱いたイメージは、あなたが藤川投手を見ていたのと同じじゃないでしょうか。きょう11日、阪神の今季最終戦で先発したDeNA・大貫晋一投手も、プロ入り前に「玉置さんの存在が大きかった」と話していました。「ここを超えていかないとプロでは通用しないと思えた」と。あなたが藤川投手を追いかけたように、またその背中を追う後輩がいるって、とても幸せなことですね。 Pelakor itu mulai kebakaran jenggot ketika mengetahui semua informasi yang diketahui Maria. Dan Maria pun mulai membongkar kelakuan suaminya dengan si pelakor. "Ha ha mulut kalian itu gak bisa dipercaya. Emang saya gak tau, waktu suami saya ke Bandung, lo juga di Bandung. Waktu suami saya ke Bali, lo juga di Bali? Mulut lo ama suami saya sama aja mba, ampun-ampun nyatanya tetap bermain di belakang saya," tulisnya. WIL suami Maria pun mulai panik. Dia awalnya membantah semua tuduhan Maria. Dia juga mengaku kalau suami Maria lah yang menghubunginya terlebih dahulu. "Kalau kamu gak nanggapin lagi kan gak bakalan jadi. Emangnya kamu diculik? Kagak kan? Kamu dengan senang hati toh mengikuti ajakan dia?" begitu Maria menjawab perkataan WIL suaminya. Sang WIL pun yang tak bisa berkata-kata lagi, kemudian mengancam akan melaporkan Maria ke polisi. "Saya aduin lho mba, kalau mba neror saya lagi. Haha, aduin aja. Emang mba berani?" begitu bunyi ancaman tersebut. Namun Maria tak pantang menyerah. Dia malah semakin berani meneror WIL suaminya. Dia menakut-nakuti sang pelakor dengan membuat pernyataan bahwa dirinya seolah-olah tahu di mana anak sang pelakor berada. "Hey, pelakor, udah ngadu belum? Kok suami saya anteng-anteng aja tuh. Btw, jaga anakmu ya. Bisa-bisa selesai trip, gak nyampe rumah," begitu dia menulis. Maria bisa mengetahui soal anak sang pelakor karena dia sudah 'berteman' di media sosial dengan guru anak tersebut. Sontak, pelakor itu langsung terkejut dan tak mengira jika Maria mengetahui anaknya sedang pergi wisata. "Lho, kok mba tau anak saya lagi trip?" begitu tanyanya. "Apa sih yang saya gak tau tentang lo. Senin lalu anak lo jadi petugas upacara aja gw tau. Berapa hari lalu teman kantor lo si A ulang tahun, gw juga tau," balas Maria. Maria juga mengungkapkan pada si pelakor kalau dia tahu detail tentang teman dan atasannya tersebut di kantor. "Ohya atasan kamu di kantor, waktu jumat pake kemeja warna putih kan. Lo mau gw aduin ke dia kalau lo beberapa bulan lalu itu ijin gak masuk bukan karena sakit tapi karena pergi keluar kota ama suami saya?!" begitu dia mengirimkan pesan teror pada sang pelakor suaminya Sang pelakor pun semakin panik dan takut. Akhirnya kata Maria, sejak saat itu suaminya tak pernah lagi pergi keluar kota tanpa dia tahu jelas urusannya. Suaminya juga tak pernah lagi mengunci ponselnya. "Mungkin ituh cewek ngadu, mungkin juga tuh cewek takut jadi gak mau komunikasi lagi. Mungkin juga suami jadi tobat beneran. Aku pura-pura gak tau apa-apa. Sampai sekarang. Yang jelas hatiku puas, memisahkan mereka dengan cara menciptakan ketakutan," tulisnya. Dalam kisahnya, Maria mengaku tak khawatir jika dia benar-benar dilaporkan ke polisi.
